Kyuquot House
Overview
This is a house that knows how to host. Beautifully styled and confidently put together, it’s a place for long lunches that drift into dinner, conversations that last longer than planned, and for everyone having just enough space to do their own thing. Four generous bedrooms, a smart, sociable kitchen, and plenty of room to... gather means group stays feel easy rather than engineered. And yes, pets are welcome too, because holidays are better when no one gets left behind!
Set in one of Suffolk’s happiest and most characterful towns, you’re perfectly placed for days that unfold naturally. Wander to cafés, potter around independent shops, stretch your legs along the river, or aim for the coast and see where you end up. Evenings are simple too, good pubs, good food, and no long drives required. It’s Suffolk at its best, relaxed, good-looking, and best enjoyed without rushing.
Features
This is a house that’s clearly been designed by people who enjoy having people over. From the moment you step into the welcoming hallway (with plenty of room for coats, boots and the inevitable pile of bags), it’s clear this is a home that balances style with real-life comfort. The living room is elegant but genuinely cosy, a big, inviting sofa, a wood burner for cooler evenings, a piano that welcomes the odd tinkle, and a large Smart TV for nights in.
At the heart of the house is a kitchen that means business, beautiful to look at, but... fully equipped for proper cooking. There’s everything you need, from a range cooker to a coffee machine, and plenty of space to mill around without anyone getting under each other’s feet. Next door, the dining room is made for long, gregarious meals, whether that’s something ambitious or delightfully improvised. A large table, wine fridge and sound system set the tone for evenings that tend to run on longer than planned. A practical utility room and downstairs cloakroom keep the everyday stuff neatly out of the way.
Upstairs, the bedrooms are calm, comfortable and thoughtfully laid out, each with its own sense of character. Two generous king rooms come with stylish ensuites. The remaining bedrooms are just as inviting, offering flexible sleeping arrangements and peaceful corners to work, read or unwind. A well-appointed family bathroom completes the picture. Altogether, it’s a house that feels polished but relaxed, easy to settle into, and surprisingly hard to leave.

Kyuquot House is our much-loved family home and has been part of the family for 18 years. The name of Kyuquot (pronounced ky-YOO-kit) in the Nuu-chah-nulth language means "land of many winds", reflecting its location on the exposed northwest coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, known for its powerful winds and wild, stormy weather. We truly love our home and hope you do too. Please treat it as you would your own and feel free to settle in and relax.
