Larch Igluhut
Overview
Larch Igluhut is one of a small collection of igluhuts and lodges, quietly nuzzled in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. For those of you who aren’t in the know, an igluhut is a handcrafted cabin designed with a distinguishing dome-shaped, shingle-clad structure. For the less concerned, it’s an exciting adventure and something new to... be experienced! Inside, the clever design creates a surprisingly spacious feel. You'll find a luxurious king-sized bed, a cosy and stylish living area, and a fully-functional kitchen. Your private terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or watch the stars appear in the clear country sky.
Find your Igluhut tucked away in a ten-acre sanctuary, a landscape being thoughtfully returned to the wild as a haven for peace and quiet. What was once farmland has been lovingly transformed into a thriving habitat, landscaped around a beautiful lake where over 2,000 native British trees and hedgerows now flourish alongside areas of wildflower meadow and long, rustling grasses that support a wealth of wildlife. Dotted across the site are twelve guest cabins, each positioned with care to feel as private as possible, though you will be sharing this wonderful space with other guests who are also here to relax and enjoy the tranquillity. The passionate commitment to this flourishing environment is why the site is exclusively adults-only and pet-free, a policy that protects resident wildlife and maintains the peaceful atmosphere you come here to find. This focus on nature means things are kept simple and sustainable; light pollution is minimised for incredible stargazing, and the quiet is cherished.
To help you unwind, there is a wealth of wonderful wellness experiences on offer. From gentle outdoor yoga on a woodland deck to private in-lodge massages and signature treatments. Take time in the birchwood saunas (your stay includes two complimentary sessions) tucked away amongst the trees, enjoy stargazing by the fire with a glass in hand, or explore peaceful countryside walks right from your door. With thoughtful extras like an honesty shop full of local treats and cosy touches throughout, we guarantee you will leave wonderfully rested and restored!

We all share a passion for nature and the great outdoors, coupled with an appreciation of boutique holiday accommodation. We wanted to create somewhere that brings the outside-in, and allows people to reconnect with nature and the natural world, without compromising on style or comfort. We hope you agree that this all came together to realise the vision of what makes this place so special.
The Location
Laxfield serves as the perfect base for exploring the wider wonders of Suffolk. Hire bikes and explore the beautiful countryside, villages, and pubs at a slower pace, or visit the nearby Flint Vineyard for a tour, wine tasting, and a delicious lunch of local flavours. For nature lovers, RSPB Minsmere is a beautiful coastal reserve where you might hear the boom of a bittern or spot a marsh harrier from a treetop hide.
When it's time for refreshment, you can wander to the village's excellent local pubs: The Royal Oak and the legendary King's Head. Known locally as 'The... Low House' and celebrated as one of the oldest pubs in the country, the latter is famous for its complete lack of a bar counter; instead, beer is served directly from the cask in a tiny taproom, offering a unique and unforgettable pint.
The iconic Suffolk coast, with its vast skies and shingle shores, is just a short drive away. Follow the hauntingly beautiful circular path from Walberswick to the lost city of Dunwich, a walk through marsh and ruins that leads to a wild, unspoiled beach. The quest for the perfect seaside flavour continues in the chic town of Aldeburgh or Southwold.
No coastal tour is complete without a day in Orford. Pair a world-famous pastry from Pump Street Bakery with a climb up the castle keep before taking a boat to the mysterious military pagodas on Orford Ness. Your visit must end at the Butley Orford Oysterage, a Suffolk institution renowned for its sublime seafood.
