The Gate House is one of three retreats on gorgeous Paradise Farm which offers 10 sprawling acres of grounds, along with a shared heated pool (April – Oct), kids play area and firepit. The property does have its own private patio with hot tub where you can wind down together.
Located in the quaint village of Westhall, a mere stone's throw (or a leisurely drive) from the bustling market town of Halesworth, this spot is prime real estate for both rural rovers and beach bums. Whether you're here to tramp through fields, paddle on the Waveney or tread along the coast, The Gate House offers a stylish base camp for all your adventures.
Features
Ideal for lazy mornings or quiet evenings in, this romantic retreat offers an open-plan kitchen and lounge area that is bright and welcoming. The spa-like bathroom is a real treat, featuring a luxurious rolltop bath (we have been told its big enough for two!), a walk-in shower, and indulgent Verden toiletries to make your stay extra special. Head up the spiral staircase and you will find a snug mezzanine bedroom with a comfy king size bed nestled under the eaves.
While the cottage is a romantic escape for two, children are welcome if they can share the king size...
bed or sleep in a cot. Just a heads-up: the spiral staircase leading to the mezzanine is open and can't accommodate a baby gate.
Beyond your private retreat, the shared grounds offer even more to enjoy. Take a dip in the covered, heated pool (we've got towels ready for you), or explore the countryside with two bikes available to rent on request. There’s also plenty of parking, including an EV charger, to make your arrival smooth and easy.
And if that wasn’t enough, Gem and Thom, your top-notch hosts, are here to make your stay unforgettable. From private chefs and beauty treatments to yoga classes, wine tastings, and flower workshops, they’ve got everything you need to curate the perfect getaway.

Rooms
Kitchen / Living / Dining Room
A great open plan space decorated in earthy neutrals with the most gorgeous arched window that floods the space with light. There is a comfy sofa, TV, dining table for two and a well-equipped kitchen.
Bathroom
The stunning bathroom has a large roll-top bath, walk-in shower, wash basin and WC.
Bedroom
A gorgeous bedroom with a king size bed and bedside tables. -
Garden
Step outside and enjoy your own private outdoor space, complete with an RB73 Fireplace (google it, its awesome), glorious hot tub and a seating area where you can unwind under the stars. If you fancy rustling up some food, there is a BBQ and Pizza oven on request.
Feel like exploring? Wander the farm grounds and make a splash in the heated, covered pool (open April to October). The little ones can let loose in the play area, complete with a trampoline, slide, and even a mud kitchen! And, of course, the resident farm animals are on hand to add a little extra charm. You’ll meet the Kune pigs with their curly tails, playful Pygmy Goats, and the cuddly Valais Black Nose Sheep, all adding a dash of country magic to your stay. -

No smoking is permitted inside the property.
Children are welcome but they would need to share parents’ bed unless they were in a travel cot. Please note the stairs are not able to have a stair gate.
Smalls dogs are welcome and must be on a lead around the other animals. Please note there is a £30 dog fee.
Please note this property has a Security Deposit of £150. -

The Location
The Gate House is located in the pretty village of Westhall in the Waveney Valley region of Suffolk. While Westhall is a quiet village, it is also well-positioned for exploring other parts of Suffolk.
The charming market town of Halesworth is just a short drive away, offering independent shops, cafes, and pubs as well as the New Cut Arts Centre, which hosts events, exhibitions, and performances that draw in locals and visitors alike. Just beyond Halesworth, you’ll find the Suffolk Heritage Coast, with its breathtaking coastal towns like Southwold and Walberswick, both known for their sandy beaches, quaint seaside...
charm, and the famous Southwold Pier.
