The Workshop is a wonderfully unique holiday retreat that mingles its industrious past with modern comforts in the most delightful way. Once a bustling workspace, it now welcomes guests with effortlessly cool exposed brick, old beams and artifacts from its former life.

When it’s time to come together, the open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area is perfect for meals, games, or chats - or head to the sunlit garden room for some laid-back lounging in style.

From riverside walks and picturesque pubs (The Freston Boot is across the road) to foodie hotspots like the Suffolk Food Hall, there’s something to suit every mood. From the moment you enter the seriously cool hallway - with its exposed brick walls and original pieces from the old forge - you’ll feel right at home. It’s the perfect spot to drop your boots, coats, and bags before diving into everything this stunning property has to offer.
At the heart of the house is the open-plan kitchen, dining, and living room. Whether you’re sinking into the squishy sofa for a movie marathon on the huge TV or gathering around the grand dining table...
for a feast, this space has you covered. The kitchen is a chef’s dream, with sleek finishes and top-notch appliances, including two ovens, a hob, a fridge/freezer, a wine fridge, a dishwasher, and a Beko coffee machine. Cooking here feels less like a chore and more like an experience.
The garden room is a haven of natural light, thanks to its two sets of large bifold doors that blur the line between indoors and out. It’s the perfect place to stretch out and enjoy a morning coffee or simply soak up the view.
When it’s time to rest, the property offers three gorgeous bedrooms, each with its own unique charm and private ensuite. Each bedroom also offers a loft space with a sofa bed suited to children only.

This large, open plan space is the heart of the home. The living area has a large, comfy sofa, armchairs and a huge TV – great for movie night.
The grand dining table sits in the centre of the room and is great for special celebrations and casual meals.
The stunningly sleek kitchen is a chef’s dream and boasts two ovens, a hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher, wine fridge and Beko coffee machine.

A convenient convenience with a WC and washbasin.
Garden Room
The two sets of large bifold doors, the garden room is a great spot to relax on the loungers, swing chairs or hammock and enjoy a morning cuppa.
Bedroom 1, Ensuite and Loft
Pretty in pink, bedroom 1 offers a king-sized bed, bedside table, chest of drawers and a TV. The gorgeous ensuite has a walk-in shower, WC and wash basin. Upstairs the loft space offers a sofa bed (please be advised this is suitable for children only).

Bedroom 3 is a quirky room offering a king-sized bed, two chest of drawers, hanging space and a TV. The gorgeous ensuite has a walk-in shower, WC and wash basin. Upstairs the loft space offers twin beds (please be advised this is suitable for children only) and an ensuite with shower, WC and wash basin. -
Garden
Step outside into the garden where there’s a lovely lawn perfect for lounging, playing, or just pottering about. Freshly planted beds add a splash of colour and ideal for those who like to stop and smell the flowers (literally). Whether it’s morning coffee, an afternoon picnic, or an evening drink in the fresh air, it’s a relaxed and cheerful spot to enjoy your well-deserved downtime. -

Adam and Laura would like to warmly welcome you to The Workshop, at The Freston Forge. Formerly the Wheelwright's workshop for manufacture and maintenance of wagons, the property has been recently restored to continue it's 250 year history with an exciting new life.
We live only a few minutes away, and are always happy to help with any questions, big or small, whether it be about the property itself or the surrounding area. Have a wonderful time in Freston and thank you for staying with us.
