Felixstowe is around 2 hours from London by car via the A12 and A14. From Cambridge, the journey takes about 90 minutes, while Norwich is just over an hour and a half away. Felixstowe has a railway station with services to Ipswich, where you can connect to London Liverpool Street in just over an hour.
Yes – Felixstowe’s beaches are a mix of sandy and shingle, with seasonal dog restrictions in place on the main beach between May and September. However, Felixstowe Ferry and Old Felixstowe beaches are dog-friendly year-round, offering plenty of open space for coastal walks with pets.
Felixstowe has a lively pub scene. Popular spots include The Fludyers Arms, a seafront pub with stunning sea views; The Alex, which offers both a bar and brasserie; and The Dooley Inn, close to the port and loved by locals for its friendly atmosphere.
