The Crow's Nest, designed by local architects Plaice, and built in 2016 to a high specification and has everything you need to create lasting memories. One of our favourite features of The Crow’s Nest is the sense of space it exudes. Wide corridors, high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows all enhance the natural night inside this beautiful apartment.

The Crow’s Nest boasts a generously sized open-plan living room, complete with a dining area and a fully fitted bespoke kitchen featuring a stylish island. During the winter months, the wood burner and underfloor heating create a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect cosy retreat. Here you will also find comfortable sofas and a modern Smart TV which is a perfect space to unwind after a day exploring the best of Suffolk.
One of the remarkable features of this room is the triple glazed door that extends along the entire length of one side. This door opens... out onto a spacious balcony, offering breathtaking south easterly views across the river towards the historically significant Sutton Hoo. The balcony is elegantly furnished with outside table and chairs allowing you to savour the sunsets in your very own piece of paradise.
The apartment offers two king-sized en-suite bedrooms, one twin bedroom and a family bathroom with a shower that may possibly fit the entire family!

To access The Crow's Nest, follow the private road shared by half a dozen other dwellings and the Boatyard. An external staircase leads to the front door and for disabled access a recently installed stairlift is available.
First Floor

Find yourself in a welcoming entrance lobby with a fitted open wardrobe for coats and boots. From here you'll enter the spacious main hub of the house.
Living / Kitchen / Dining Area
Here you will find comfortable sofas and a modern Smart TV which is a perfect space to unwind after a day exploring the best of Suffolk. The kitchen is fitted with everything you would possibly need to enjoy a sumptuous meal in stunning surroundings. There is also a washing machine which will come in very useful after a day on the river! The tasteful dining area comfortably seats six guests and gives you the most amazing view over the Deben.
Bedroom 1
An enormous king-sized bedroom with seated area, desk and wardrobe. The en-suite boasts a bath with shower over, WC and basin. This bedroom can be set up as a twin if required.

The apartment overlooks a boatyard with a slipway in front of the balcony that will from time to time have various vessels undergoing repair and maintenance work during the day. Occasionally there will be a little noise during working hours.
Please note the first floor is wheelchair accessible via a stair lift.

Message from the Owner
Robertsons Boatyard sits on the banks of the river Deben, opposite Sutton Hoo and within the beautiful market town of Woodbridge. Records show that the site has been used for trade and boatbuilding since the Middle Ages. Robertsons was established in the early 1880s to build small wooden yachts for the leisure market. The yard remained in the hands of the Robertson family for three generations and continues to trade under their name today.
Although no longer owned by a Robertsons, the yard is still a family-owned business. In recent years there has been significant investment. With the underlying aim of ensuring the traditional boatyard skills and service are retained for future generations, some diversification and modernisation has been introduced. We are probably most proud of the Crow’s Nest, our stunning 1st & 2ndfloor, three-bedroom apartment in such a unique setting.
Guests at the Crow’s Nest love the changing views from the two terraces, from the tranquillity of dawn on the river to the hustle of boatyard activities (Monday to Friday), kayakers and passing sail boats during the day, followed by the still of the evening. Wildlife is abundant on the river; we’ve even had a seal visit our slipway. Guests are also welcome to bring their own kayak or rib to use our slipway, book one of our bespoke river trips or book some time to use our on-site co-working space.
