Hidden away in the calm Suffolk countryside lies Ubbeston, a place rich in history dating back to the time of the Vikings. You can see traces of this heritage on the village sign, featuring a Viking ship, a nod to the days when the Vikings navigated the nearby River Blyth.
Take a leisurely stroll along the now tranquil river, which gently winds its way to the neighbouring village of Laxfield. There, you'll find the essence of rural Suffolk with its cosy pubs, a handy Co-op, a Post Office, and an intriguing museum offering glimpses into local history.
Despite...
its peaceful, rural vibe, Ubbeston enjoys a prime location, sitting midway between the historic market towns of Halesworth and Framlingham, each just about 6 miles away. This central spot makes it easy for visitors to explore the array of attractions along the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Whether you're drawn to coastal towns like Southwold and Aldeburgh or prefer soaking in the peacefulness of the Suffolk countryside, Ubbeston serves as an ideal home base for experiencing the best of both worlds.
