And don't worry about mealtimes – the kitchen is fully equipped for all your culinary experiments. When it's time to hit the hay, the bedrooms promise a restful sleep.

Outside, you've got your own gorgeous courtyard garden where you can enjoy some al fresco dining or simply soak some Suffolk sunshine.

Whether you fancy a leisurely stroll around town, a day lounging on Aldeburgh Beach, or a spot of shopping and dining at the local hotspots, you're in for a treat. And for the history buffs, the Old Coach House was once owned and used by England’s first female mayor, pioneering physician and suffragette, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson.

Message from the Owner

The Old Coach House, Aldeburgh was built by Newson Garrett in 1852 and formed the stables as part of his new Alde House estate next door. It fell into disrepair and was renovated over two years in 2005 to the highest standard retaining its original charm and sense of history with every modern comfort and convenience. We hope you have an enjoyable stay in this historic building.

The Location

The delightful coastal town of Aldeburgh has an irresistible charm, boasting a rich history, picturesque beaches, and a thriving arts scene. Stretching for miles with its pebbled shoreline, it sets the stage for leisurely walks, delightful picnics and basking in the invigorating sea breeze.

Art enthusiasts are in for a treat as Aldeburgh houses numerous galleries and studios, showcasing the boundless creativity of local talents. Aldeburgh is just 5 miles from Snape Maltings, the home of the Aldeburgh International Festival famous for its music in June and Proms throughout August. A visit to the Red House, the former home…
of Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears whose graves are in the Churchyard, is a must along with a leisurely stroll through the marshes.

The culinary offerings of Aldeburgh are a true delight. Prepare your taste buds for a treat with some of the freshest and most mouthwatering seafood around, including the famous fish and chips that are simply irresistible so, kick back, relax, and let the laid-back charm and coastal vibes of Aldeburgh work their magic on you.

Once you experience the allure of this town, you'll find yourself irresistibly drawn to return time and time again.
